Ad #71717 events: The Feminine Principle in Tibetan Buddhi Jan 2, 2024
The Toronto Shambhala Centre welcomes you to a weekend program
"Dakini Wisdom: The Feminine Principle in Tibetan Buddhism"

These teachings are about nonconceptual wisdom symbolized by a fiercely beautiful feminine deity called the dakini, who appears to the solitary meditatory in order to awaken this inborn wisdom. Stories of dakini encounters are beloved in Tibet, and serve as allegories of meditation experience.

She is professor of Religious Studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. She has written numerous articles on Tibetan Buddhism, American Buddhism and engaged Buddhism. Her books are Dakini's Warm Breath: The Feminine Principle in Tibetan Buddhism (Shambhala 2001) and Benedict's Dharma: Buddhists Comment on the Rule of St. Benedict (Riverhead 2001). She has been married to Richard Brown for twenty-five years, and they have two
