Ivan Forrest Gardens

The Beach is heavily dotted with cafés, so why not bring your coffee here? There are three benches at the street level and two down by the fountain.

Glen Manor Park - Ivan Forrest Gardens

Right on Queen Street, it's a perfect place to rest or have lunch during your work day down in the Beach or during a visit, especially when you are aware that there is much to do and see East of Hammersmith as well!

Glen Stewart Ravine

The ravine itself is more of a trickle now, but still quaint and pretty to look at. It comes very close to drying out completely in the summer, all the more reason to stay on the trails to help prevent the fragile topsoil from filling in the ravine.

Glen Stewart Ravine

The wooden steps do more than get you down the very steep grades, they protect the fragile surface from further erosion. There are two set of these stairs, one coming from Beach Avenue north and the other coming from Kingston Road.

Glen Stewart Ravine

The city is taking steps to protect the fragile surface from further erosion. The city requests that you stay on the trail to help preserve the topsoil of this beautiful ravine.

R. C Harris Water Filtration Plant

The R.C. Harris Filtration plant is more than just a cool place to have a tour of. It's a large park with rolling lawns, spectacular views. Just follow the Boardwalk east and keep going.

The Scarborough Bluffs from the Plant

The South Eastern point of the property offers the only good view of the Scarborough Bluffs visible from the Beach.

R. C Harris Water Filtration Plant

If you or a family have ever been into flying kites, there is plenty of open space on the North or South sides.

Kew Beach Memorial Gardens

At the official gateway to the park is the Kew Beach War Memorial honouring those who served during both World Wars.

Kew Beach Memorial Gardens

Caretakers have actually lived in the beautiful house in the first picture.

Kew Beach Memorial Gardens

The gazebo in the centre of the park is often used as a stage for the many open festivals and concerts held throughout the summer season. There are many arts and craft fairs held here as well.

Kew Beach Memorial Gardens

The gardens are still beautifully kept as are the enormous trees shading many parts of the park. On the south end of the park you will find a baseball diamond and a large number of picnic tables, enough to accomodate several baseball teams for their after-game picnic.

Welcome to Ashbridges Bay Park!

As you head west on the Boardwalk, you eventually come to a winding turn which heads sharply to your left. This means you are going towards the park!

Ashbridges Bay Park

Within minutes, you will be able to see where the City of Toronto has placed thousands of huge boulders to protect the shore line from erosion. The view from the first point looking back towards the beach is tempting, and many people can be seen hanging around the shelter and tables there. But there is much more ahead...

Ashbridges Bay Park

All along the shoreline, you are treated to spectacular views, and you are very likely to spot ducks, loons or even swans.

Ashbridges Marina Park Looking West

We are located just the right distance from downtown.

Downtown from Ashbridges Bay Park

Jumping ahead a bit, we found a perect shot of the downtown skyline from this quiet setting. We'll call it - A study in juxtaposition...

Ashbridges Bay Park

The Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club, is a very full marina. Thankfully, thes boats do not leave as much fuel by-product as other boats. Obviously, these ducks aren't very disturbed by these boats parked in their nieghbourhood.

Ashbridges Bay Park - Habitats

In order to protect some of the fish, amphibians and other water life, the city installed these fences to keep some very sensitive marsh-lands and other water-based habitats. Enjoy the view, but please keep these areas undisturbed.

Ashbridges Bay Park

You can even find your own private little beach, to catch a tan.

Ashbridges Bay Park

This is a great area to hang out with buddies, or with a special friend, since there are so many private spots.

Ashbridges Bay Park

Make sure to head down as many footpaths as you can, each one has its own unique view.
