Dante, hero dog averts mass killing in Beaches |

It turns out that a local dog, helped avoid a horrendous murder spree right in the heart of the Beaches last month, on June 23rd. A 44-year-old New Brunswick man faces weapons charges . He drove out to the Beaches last month from New Brunswick. He went to the R.C. Harris filtration plant to load his weapons and planned to shoot numerous people at random. He had numerous guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition. An encounter with a friendly dog, named Dante changed his mind and he decided to turn himself into police. The dog's owner? Kristina Kyser, a Ph.D. student at University of Toronto. She says her dog is very friendly and gets distressed when her children cry. Police found a car loaded with guns and ammunition. They allege the man planned to commit mass carnage. James Paul Stanson has been charged with numerous weapons offenses. He has been found fit to stand trial.
